When building or buying a shipping container home, what exactly is involved in the process?

What is necessitated in purchasing, projecting and constructing cargo container homes that are to a higher degree just art projects?

Cargo container homes or (Shipping Container Homes) are an excellent example of thinking on a whole new (not that new actually) way of thinking while actually living inside one, but thinking about it is a typical procrastinating subject versus where doing something about it is a completely different subject. Very strategic and careful thinking is definitely a mandatory matter before building a shipping container house or moving into a cargo container home.

Many of which are “just hanging out” in many steel scrap yards usually near airports or major highways. ( I am sure you have seen these while flying or driving around) .. They are everywhere!  And we need to do something with them or they will continue to pile up and eventually rot away just adding to this recyclable pile of “unused waste” that can 100% be used for housing or emergency home shelters for the needy.

Furthermore, almost every unit is made from metal which makes them very sturdy even when stacked – let alone resistant to weather, fires, and other natural (and unnatural) elements the “almighty Mother nature has for us“. They are usable in a diversity of sizes (with most common being eight feet wide by 8.5 feet tall by forty feet long) that are idealistic for modular housing and office utilization.

Discovering a cargo container Is not all that difficult with a little bit of researching and Internet surfing. There are several online shipping/transportation directories online that differentiate and specialize  in pre-fab offices based on former cargo containers.

Alleged bulktainers make the best modules as they’re made of metal and have been used to ship dry commodities on tans-oceanic ocean trips. The units unique ID number can be applied to ascertain the container’s age and history. Once a appropriate cargo unit has been found and located, or when satisfied by the customers specs., then comes the negotiation process.
